I had been waiting for the call all day. I knew that my sister and her husband had gone in for the ultrasound and would find out the gender of their little growing baby. When my phone finally rang, I answered immediately and squealed, “I knew it!!!” when Jenn revealed that they would be having a boy. But then she paused and her voice faltered. She explained that the ultrasound technician had found a couple things they wanted to investigate but from the initial reading it looked like the baby would be born with a cleft lip and palate, along with a couple other worrying possibilities. Our family prayed through another ultrasound, this time in 3D, and were relieved to learn that Levi would only have the cleft lip and palate but was otherwise healthy. I remember telling Jenn and Darius that their baby boy couldn’t be born into a more loving and supporting family!
This little guy? Oh man. He is adorable! I had the privilege of living with Jenn and Darius when he was born, so I got to be around him (and hold him!) a lot. He is just the happiest little dude and his whole face just lights up when he sees his family. I have been looking forward to this cake smash session from the time he was born!
Look at those eyes! Beautiful 🙂
He wasn’t quite sure what to do at first… so he just kept poking at the cupcake.
Then he finally tasted the frosting… yum!
Mmmm chocolate cake!
This next picture makes me laugh. “Is the cake gone already?”
“But hey, at least there’s still a plate to play with!”
Happy birthday little man… love you SO much!
