Jon | Boise Senior Portrait Photography

Senior sessions are always so much fun to shoot because there are so many different styles to choose from! For Jon’s senior session we decided to go for a more urban feel, so we headed to Downtown Boise to commemorate his graduating High School.

My sisters are my best friends in the entire world… and we have been through thick and thin together. I am thankful every day to have such a great relationship with them, and living close to them is one of the many reasons I’m so happy to be back home in Boise.

Jenn, who is only two years younger than I, is my oldest friend. Most of my childhood memories involve her, whether it was playing runaways from an orphanage in the backyard, or making much mischief and getting in trouble. When I found out that Jenn and Darius were expecting a baby, I was absolutely thrilled! It’s been exciting to see Jenn’s baby bump get bigger, and hilarious to watch Jenn and Darius as they try to pick out a name for their little boy (I still think they’re going to walk out of the hospital with a birth certificate that says “Baby Portela”). Baby is due in October, and I can’t wait to meet him!
Last weekend Jenn and I went out to Kathryn Albertson Park to do some maternity pictures. Jenn is SO photogenic, and I had a hard time narrowing down pictures to put up on the blog =) But, I was able to eventually, so here are a few of my favorites!

Kenna and Rowan | Boise Family Photography

Last November I had the opportunity to do a maternity shoot with Kenna while we were in Boise for Thanksgiving. Since we lived in California up until this June, I never got to see Rowan after he was born so, naturally, I was thrilled to do a shoot of Kenna and her precious baby boy.

This little guy? SO CUTE!! Such a sweet face and personality… and Kenna is always so fun to photograph because she is just beautiful! See for yourself:

Ben and Stephanie | Boise Wedding Photography

I met Stacee at a Creative Connection event last October, and we hit it off right away.  We discovered that we lived not ten minutes away from each other, and both of us are passionate about photography.  Stacee owns Stacee Lianna Photography, and does amazing work.  When she emailed me a couple months ago and asked if I wanted to second shoot with her, I didn’t even need to think twice!

Two weekends ago, I went with Stacee down to Newport Beach to photograph Ben and Stephanie’s wedding.  We started at the Hyatt where we grabbed some shots of Stephanie getting ready, as well as a few portraits, and the couple’s first look.  It was just beautiful!
Stephanie made such a beautiful bride!
Ben is a Marine (oorah) so he came in his dress blues.  Gotta love them dress blues!  :)
The Hyatt had a pretty garden area where the couple had their “first look.”  This was probably my favorite part of the day.  When Ben turned around and saw his bride, he was overcome with emotion.  Both he and Stephanie had to take turns wiping the tears from each other’s eyes.  It was so sweet!
From the Hyatt, we headed to the Marina, where we boarded the Newport Princess.  The ceremony and reception took place on the yacht.  This was my first yacht wedding, so it was a lot of fun!
Since Ben is a Marine, the captain presented the newlyweds with a sword with which to cut the cake.  So fun!
While the guests danced, I grabbed this last picture of the lights off the water.
Congratulations Ben and Stephanie, all the best to you both.  Also, thank you so much Stacee, for asking me to second shoot with you.  It was so much fun!

Stephanie | Boise Maternity Photography

Some of you may remember Stephanie from the session I did with her family last fall.  When we did that photo shoot, Steph had only a teeny tiny baby bump, so we talked about doing another session once she was closer to her due date.  When I got my new camera, Stephanie was the first person I called!
I’ve mentioned before that I just love maternity shoots.  There is something so special about capturing the glow of pregnancy, and the excitement as a mom anticipates her new little one.  I am really excited to share these pictures with you, I think they came out beautifully!  The light was perfect and dreamy, and Stephanie is gorgeous from the inside out. :)

Stephanie, thank you for tromping around in the bushes with me!  I loved getting to do this shoot with you… and I can’t wait to meet your precious baby girl.
